Nihal Peiris has put in 15 valuable years with Ceylinco Consolidated, where his special expertise in the field of finance and related areas such as management, tax, accounting and auditing, have proved of immense value. He joined as an accountant with Ceylinco, and today, oversees all financial interests of Ceylinco Consolidated. He makes a significant contribution towards all major financial decisions. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

He joined the Ceylinco Group in 1979 as a Management Trainee, and his first assignment was to assist in the setting up of the branch network of The Finance Company, under the direct supervision of the Chairman. He is presently the Deputy Chairman I Chief Executive of all companies in The Golden Key Group and Executive Director - IT of Seylan Bank and The Finance Company. He is also a Director of several other companies under the Ceylinco umbrella and Chairman of Bartercard Sri Lanka.

With over 24 years in the Ceylinco Group, he has nurtured the culture and vision of the Group so well that his career path has been marked by sterling contributions to furthering the Group's interests in every sphere. He originally started his career at The Finance Company Limited. In his capacity as Credit Manager, he initiated the first-ever leasing company, project financing and venture capital and higher purchase schemes for consumer durables.

With the liberalization of the Insurance Industry, he joined the Ceylinco Insurance Company Limited as Director in Charge of the General Division and was subsequently promoted to Chief Executive Director. He was responsible in setting up the first-ever, overseas joint venture with the Sagaramatha Insurance Company of Nepal. Under his leadership Ceylinco Insurance General was selected as One of the Four Best General Insurance Companies in Asia.

As Deputy Chairman of the Ceylinco International Trading Group, he was responsible in setting up the joint venture of Ceylinco L&T (Pvt) Ltd., with Larsen & Toubro of India and Ceymo Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd., a bus manufacturing company in Sri Lanka.

As an Attorney-at-Law and Fellow Member of the Institute of Credit Management, she brings her wealth of legal and financial expertise. During her career of over 30 years at Ceylinco, she has held a number of senior positions, holding responsibility as CEO of The Finance Company and other non-banking financial institutions, in addition to housing and property development companies. She has been instrumental in the resurrection of a number of failed financel companies, and has also been a pioneer in developing real estate and property development activities, including flagship projects such as Lotus Grove, Barnes Place Residencies & Hyde Park Residencies.

Mervyn Jayasinghe's 24-year tenure with Ceylinco has been divided between real estate and finance. Extensive experience gathered at The Finance Company in the field of both marketing and financial services helped him to organize and restructure The Finance & Guarantee Co. Ltd., when it was brought under the umbrella of Ceylinco Consolidated. He is behind the innovative and the practical approach taken by The F&G Group, which is reflected by its present heights.

A. Daniel Jegasothy, a Director of several affiliated companies of Ceylinco, has contributed in many ways to the development of the Group, in both local and international affairs. His vast knowledge of the business world and his mastery over legal matters has made him one of Ceylinco's successes. As an Attorney-at-Law and a Notary Public, he has been attached to Ceylinco Consolidated since 1974.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, R. Renganathan joined Ceylinco Consolidated in 1983. He was entrusted with the task of setting up the Life Division of Ceylinco Insurance Company, after the Government of Sri Lanka permitted private insurers to enter the insurance industry in 1987.

A firm believer in the miracle of Life Insurance, with a vision of protecting every Sri Lankan family with a Ceylinco Life insurance policy, he has put together a team of professionals who share this common objective. Upon achieving success in the field of Life Insurance, he has now ventured into the healthcare sector with the idea of providing affordable healthcare facilities to the people of Sri Lanka. Therefore, with the affiliation of the Washington Cancer Institute, he has initially set up a Cancer Detection Centre. He was invited to join the Board of Directors of Seylan Bank in 1996 and was appointed its Deputy Chairman in 1999. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Seylan Merchant Bank, Ceylinco Savings Bank and Ceylinco Development Bank.

A strong grounding in the field of law has helped her to hold impressive positions, such as President of the Sri Lanka Women's Lawyers Association and Association of Corporate Lawyers in Sri Lanka. Today she oversees the legal concerns of the Ceylinco Consolidated companies and is active in all disciplines of the law. She is also involved in legal issues concerning women and children.

Sanka Wijesinghe's expertise and vast experience in international business, includes the setting-up of new ventures overseas and managing profit centres. Armed with a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Colombo, and having followed a General Management and International Marketing programme at the National University of Singapore, Mr. Wijesinghe has the right level of international exposure to make Ceylinco a truly global conglomerate. He is also an associate member of the Institute of Credit Management, Sri Lanka, and a registered member of the International Real Estate Institute.

As an internationally-reputed insurance professional who has also specialised in the field of reinsurance, Jagath Alwis joined Ceylinco Insurance as the Reinsurance Manager in 1988, and was appointed to the Board of Ceylinco Insurance as the Director (Technical) in 1993. He has also proved his expertise in the field of training and professional development. Under his guidance, the Ceylinco Education Group has managed to secure many franchises from internationally reputed universities. He is a BSc. Graduate, Fellow Member of Chartered Insurance Institute-London, and a Chartered Insurer.

His years of experience at the Auditor Genera'ls Department and the Ceylinco Group counts for his success in tax advisory services and sound financial management. Currently he heads a multidisciplinary team, which is specialized in taxation, financial consultancy, secretarial, human resources and fund management.

His vast experience in the financial field and his specialised skills in corporate treasury management corporate finance and international trade, have helped the company to forge a strong market position for itself. He has succeeded in adding the cutting edge in the area of overseas financial activities, and international trade and finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Honours graduate from the University of Peradeniya (Ceylon).

He joined Ceylinco Group of companies as a Product Manager for Ceylinco Insurance CO LTD in 1993.

He is a Bachelor of Science degree holder from the University of Peradeniya and having completed a postgraduate diploma in marketing at Sri Jayawardenapura University. He is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing- UK. His knowledge was further strengthened in completing an in-depth Retail Merchandising course in Toronto and Singapore.

Deputy Chairman – Ceylinco Capital Market Group

Mr. R.S.W. Senanayake, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom, has recently been appointed as a Deputy Chairman of Ceylinco Group. He presently functions as the Director/General Manager of Seylan Merchant Bank Limited, Managing Director of Seylan Merchant Leasing Limited, and as Executive Director of SMB Money Brokers (Private) Limited.

Mr. Senanayake gained experience in accounting and auditing through a stint with M/s Coopers & Lybrand (presently known as Pricewaterhousecoopers). Mr. Senanayake has been involved in the securities industry for many years. He worked at Somerville Stock Brokers (Private) Limited, a tenure during which he gained comprehensive exposure to the stock broking business.

Mr. Senanayake has specialized in the profession of investment management, and was associated with Central Finance Company Limited as its Investments Manager, managing the equity portfolios of Central Finance Company Limited, Central Securities Limited,
and some other subsidiaries of Central Finance Company Limited. He then joined Ceylinco Insurance Company Limited as its Investment Manager, holding responsibility for management of the Life, General and Pension Funds of the Company. He is presently associated with Ceylinco Insurance Company Limited in the capacity of Deputy General Manager – Investments.
